Celebrity Influencer Accounts are under attack

Today Indian Prime minister @Narendra Modi’s personal twitter account @narendramodi got compromised. We all know free money is always a big lure and if you are offered free bitcoin interest in such posts, offers does go high. Many people even if don’t believe the offer would click the link out of curiosity. Here in this case hackers tweeted scam link using #freebitcoin as a lure (#cyberfraud #cyberscam #bitcoinfraud). This incident gives us an important life lesson. Think twice before you click any link even if shared by #verifiedaccount or known real account of person you trust (even your own company you work for or your family member). Hackers may create need to act in many different ways using same subject or matter.
For example, last year in July 2020, verified twitter accounts of #BarackObama got hacked where hackers played sympathy card and asked for #bitcoins as a donation for #Covid19 pandemic. #BillGates, #ElonMusk, #MikeBloomberg, and #WarrenBuffett were also apparently hacked, as was the rapper #KanyeWest.
Luckily not many followers of those accounts owned #bitcoin #cryptocurrency and even if owned, did not know how to send it.
In conclusion, Beware of #Phishing #hacking #cyberfraud attempts. If something seems weird, unusual please discuss with your friends and family. Send it to your local cyber crime agency.
